Hi! Welcome to James Rumsey Technical Institute. I am pleased to have the opportunity to tell you a little about the largest multi-county technical school in West Virginia. James Rumsey Technical Institute opened in 1970 and has been serving high school students from Berkeley, Morgan, and Jefferson Counties and adults from WV, PA, VA, and MD for over 35 years.
James Rumsey Technical Institute has been recognized as a West Virginia School of Excellence and an Exemplary School. Students have the opportunity to enroll in a variety of programs that promote 21st century learning and offer industry credentialing. There are 7 post secondary programs and 17 high school programs in addition to the Adult Learning Center. James Rumsey Technical Institute also offers a variety of academic classes and student youth organizations.
The faculty and staff as James Rumsey are committed to working with students in order to help them assume productive positions within the community. Students can earn college credits through the many partnerships, including EDGE (Earn a Degree, Graduate Early); with local institutions of higher education and the Blue Ridge Community and Technical College is the school’s official educational partner.
